Not eligible for an upgrade through AT&T.. what happens if I pay full price?

so basically, not eligible upgrades until next year. wife , both on same plan (an old, unlimited data plan).

wife eligible, , plans on pre-ordering tonight. if pre-order tonight , pay full price ($850 64gb 6+), affect contract in way?

tried calling at&t got nowhere, did try me sign next (sigh).
 

it shouldn't have effect far know.
