Advice requested about what to do with this new/old Mac Mini

i helped friend macs , gave me 1 of them, “brand-new” mid-2007 mac mini 2,1 —core 2 duo, 2.0 ghz, 120gb hdd, —now 4gb ram (really 3gb) upgraded myself. had tiger 10.4 installed , updated 10.6.8 snow leopard. according mactracker it’s 64-bit , still supported , can go lion, i’d rather have ml or sl rather lion, sticking sl.

it’s “brand-new” because friend bought new in late 2007 never unpackaged it, set or anything. well, did have new mac smell somehow when set up, still covered in peely plastic. :)

real quirk wifi antenna. when first set mini (and hadn’t yet opened change ram) had lot of trouble getting recognize home network. kept rejecting outright, or begrudgingly remembering once managed working. 1 morning great. bars, no problems. at. all, hooked wifi network on own & able massive amounts of updates downloaded. unfortunately since then, either gets 2 or 3 bars max. or sees home network says can’t connect.

used migration assistant move on friends files , programs cloned image (2006 core 2 duo imac). —just wondering if disk image wonking things up. in meantime, have wiped hdd , reinstalled fresh copies of tiger , snow leopard. still problems wifi , reinstalled friend’s data again.

so, advice needed regarding wifi problem , (if have go through pain-in-the-butt of opening mini again check out antenna) i’d upgrade hdd larger 120gb, i’d appreciate advice too, please. think limit 1.5tb model??

, i'm not sure whether keep cs3 or htpc.

heh, cute little mac mini <3 of dreams in 2007-2009. :)
