mirroring MacBook to TV

i thinking of buying apple tv , wonder if can use extension of computer located on different room.

understand can see whatever have on screen. if have keyboard , mouse connected appletv, can control computer if not @ same room?
 

not in way you're thinking, in apple tv isn't accepting input mac, it's mirroring display.

if wireless keyboard , mouse powerful enough reach mac tv is, can still use them way. option, if have ios device , need limited control (as opposed to, say, heavy-duty typing) mobile mouse pro (or similar), lets control mouse , keyboard on mac via wifi if run server piece there. find super-handy controlling mac mini htpc.
