Intel Seeking to Woo Apple Away From Qualcomm for Cellular Baseband Chips

intel hoping apple turn california company cellular baseband hardware in future mobile products, says intel korea president lee hee-sung in statement reported korea herald. baseband manages radio functions of iphone or cellular-capable ipad, allowing device communicate carrier's mobile network.
apple had originally used infineon baseband hardware in models of iphone, after infineon purchased intel in 2010 apple shifted using communication chips market leader qualcomm. intel has, however, been hard @ work @ improving baseband chips, evidenced design win in new galaxy alpha.

apple , intel of course partners complete line of mac processors, apple undoubtedly focus on technology , pricing considerations in weighing potential switch mobile products.
