Will I see a big performance difference upgrading from 2008 MP to 2010 MP?
so 2008 mp 2.8 8x core 3,1 getting on bit. 2010 westmere 2.4 8x core significant upgrade? notice speed/performance difference? looks ram 1 third price of 2008 mp ram.
think can migrate literally peripherals 2008 2010? -- things internal ssd, hdd's, ati 3870 & 4870, 3x 30" acds, firewire 800 external drives , on...?
you can migrate hard drives , whatnot 2010, yeah. significant upgrade, depends on call significant, , 2010 you're getting. got myself 5,1 quad 2.8 , unsurprisingly faster in single-threaded , worse in multi-threaded. it's since been upgraded week w3680 3.33 hex; here's benchmarks. (first number 2.8 8-core 3,1, second stock 5,1 w/ 4gb 1066mhz memory, third 5,1 upgraded processor , 1333mhz ram. percentage improvement 3,1 upgraded 5,1):
