2gb Ram Sticks in G5

i visiting 1 of favorite bone yards today , uncovered pair of 2gb ddr pc-3200.

naturally, i'd these find home in pm g5. of references find mention these maxing out @ 8gb(8x1gb), , information out on internet using high capacity sticks in these seems scarce.

so, i'm wondering if has ever experimented using 2gb sticks in g5. other concern(aside compatibility) ones found quite wide , have heat spreaders on them, i'm wondering if there's enough physical space install them.

away g5 few days, why don't try out myself. prospect of upping ram 7gb(6x512+2x2) current 4gb(8x512) tempting.
 

i think later model g5s (dc/quads) able have more 8 gb of ram.
