Can I buy an iPhone from Verizon at full price on launch day?

here's deal. in situation similar many people on forums. preordered iphone 6+ verizon's website @ 2:40 or sometime around central time. @ checkout, told me delivery date of 9/19. received email confirmation of 9/19. checked order status later morning , said delivery of 10/7. pretty upset , planning on contacting customer service, when checked later status changed still processing.

still stuck in processing no tracking , not sure phone on 9/19. went local verizon store , told me cancel order through them on thursday , show friday morning phone, not show friday morning , phone , cancel online order @ same time. had cancel thursday , show up.

here question. can show friday morning , buy phone outright $849 , come later day cancel preorder , activate new phone? not want cancel preorder on thursday , have turn out shows on friday after all.
