NAS, Apple TV, iTunes and Time Capsule

my apologies in advance such jumbled title - have with.

have macbook pro running itunes , having whole load of movies, home movies et al stored on 'g drive) around 1,3gb told.
wife has macbook pro , macpro
newer version of time capsule
apple tv 2nd generation

so, hold movies have on separate drive , link apple tv via our time capsule (also acts home network). when not @ home , wife wants watch movies, cannot because g drive linked mbp, if i;m not there can't open it.

have read book on 'home networking' (a dark art left pros) , have heard of called nas mac, can please - i'd set that, when rip 1 of dvds holding on our hard drive, can seen @ home via apple tv.

ta ever in advance.
 

your best bet use plex. don't have rely on itunes then.

either or set macpro mater library , both of store media here. leave on 24/7 instant access.
