First thing to do when you pickup a new Macbook?

so last night picked first macbook pro retina display. ended going 13"/8gb/256gb. have not purchased carrying case yet, of favorites? i'm totally new mac coming pc world, things need know or programs should download start experience off? i'm trying sync iphone email macbook email, having problems that. thanks.
 

download caffeine in mas(mac app store) allows disable sleep mode if download lot , don't want interrupted. purchase aperture if can- possibly 1 of easiest learn photo editors. play around built in apps well.
