Mac Pro 1 1 vs 3 1

i"ve got 1 1, , i've been offered £425 quid (i paid 300 few months ago) , i'm making money there.

i've been offered 3,1 £500, £75 quid upgrade. aside running mavericks, how of noticeable boost there? don't care benchmarks, id hear people using machines, i'll throwing , ssd in it, , go 8 or 10gb of ram. baseline 2.8 machine.

worth it? or worth saving , getting 4,1 or newer?

many users tell save 4,1 or 5,1 - answer question, $75, you'll getting support newer os x versions, 800mhz ram, pcie 2.0, more pcie lanes, faster fsb , larger cpu overhead.

if in shoes, wouldn't take 3,1. 1,1 , newer machine. 800mhz ram very, small performance increase in real-world tasks, not mention ddr2 fb-dimms expensive in high memory capacity, if want 800mhz fb-dimms. dual 2.8ghz e5462s aren't (if @ all) of improvement on x5355s, economical quad cores can stick in 1,1 machine. (not sure 2.66ghz xeons in 1,1 - if you're still running dual core processors, upgrade x5355s costs $50 ebay , worth it.) fbs architecture slow today's standards, 1333mhz vs 1600mhz isn't large improvement. improvement that's worth talking pcie improvements. 3,1 pcie 2.0 gpu - that's twice bandwidth on current 1,1 - however, in real world tests, isn't of improvement either. difference you'll notice if want run 2 gpus since 3,1 has 2 x16 pcie slots.

hope gives information.
