My 27" iMac needs more space. Suggestions?

i have 27' imac , myself , group making documentary using computer.

have uploaded countless interviews , taking bunch of space. have around 40 min. left of uploaded space.

also, keep getting 'startup disk full' message on computer.

still have many more interviews upload. have suggestions, recommendations on how should go getting new space computer?

please me this.
