Order on Apple.com and cancel if found in person?

as title states, i'm thinking of ordering plus on apple.com , continuing search locally. has been brutal , i'm give , wait online order. has done method, , if have found phone in store , cancelled online order, have there been issues or headaches canceling order apple.com? prior shipping, , carrier verizon. insight appreciated. thanks!
 

you can cancel anytime in processing stage, once marked preparing shipped or shipped have let order delivered return either online or nearest apple store
