Should I buy a MacPro? Or an iMac?

hey guys,

software developer working on multiple projects including larger backends , relating frontends (including apps , browserapplications). means have server , running on own machine speed testing while developing apps , applicationserver itself. current mbp (nonretina) has 8gb of ram , uses 7.95gb. feel deploying , whole buildprocess (when comes cpu-heavy tasks) noticeably faster on self-built desktoppc 2009 want replace.

in free time play games (mmh can every day, yes).
wanted new machine september on there arrive big projects in pipeline.

question if should buy macpro (a rather small config then) or maxed-out imac. price makes not big difference then.

not comfortable each of them, because:
  • regarding imac mobilegpu , (how looks like) no thunderbold2 until september. own 2 dell2412m monitors. think macpro more durable imac.
  • regarding macpro whole graphics-card (i guess 500$ in price) cant make damn use of.

due intels roadmap pretty sure if anything, there minor spec-bump imac year (and until september). next big step cpus got delayed q2 of 2015.
regarding macpro , haswell-e, intel announced refresh in september 2014.

think should do?

ok. simple. if want power, speed, , strength, imac yours. if carry amour of power , speed around, mac pro. if you're fine , wjhhat need weight, mac air. ok?
