first thing strikes size, lamp section long , slim , around 45cm long. fabricated lightweight plastic gave me initial concerns on durability these fears later proved unfounded. suspect use of plastic keeping weight down of shipping product costs since comes supplied necessary, heavy weight base stability. base cast metal , feels secure , planted in use, covering 18cm square. lamp section secured base nut fastens on underside. power supply attached bottom rear of lamp arm , go. cable around 1.5m long length desk lamp.
lamp folds in 2 sections, above base can angle forward , in middle of lamp arm can flip illuminate larger area protrudes 35cm. lamp swivels in base through 180 degrees adds more flexibility can site base. lamp head not articulate shame not surprising since quite large house 27 leds.
yes, read correctly, lamp has total of 27 leds arranged in 3 strips of nine. 2 outer strips contain white leds while centre strip has yellow leds , combination makes desk lamp unique controls alludes to. control achieved capacitive touch panel has 4 lighting modes, brightness , down, power on/off button , 60 minute sleep timer. while there no tactile feedback, these buttons sensitive , work well. available modes combine leds different effect providing various levels of lighting warmth. reading mode offers colour temperature range of 4500 - 5500k, study mode offers 5500 - 6500k, relax mode offers 3500 - 4500k , sleep mode provides range of 2000 - 3000k. effectively, lighting yellower , more subdued, more relaxed wish can bright white when need it. on top of this, brightness switches offer 5 levels of brightness each mode meaning can fine tune lighting on offer suit needs.
60 minute sleep timer great addition, handy using lamp reading @ night. power indicator flash when timer activated , simple tap of timer button cancel it.
rounding out package 1a usb socket on 1 side @ bottom of lamp arm offering handy access desktop power gadgets.
using leds, lamp consumes total of 14w of power , offers 530lm of illumination. there no sign of buzzing during testing, regardless of mode or brightness selected , lighting remained steady @ times no flickering.
there doesn't seem can consider when reviewing desk lamp surprised how flexible , mainstay on office desk. great if offer articulation around light head , arm perhaps constructed bit more heavy duty asking price in use felt fine , should safely out of harms way if left on desk. if have issues in finding right kind of lighting desk or appreciate level of flexibility hard not recommend lamp.
