External hard dive will not accept files

i working on macbook pro editing wedding files, when usb cable became disconnected. unable copy files desktop hard drive.

went disk utilities, , when click on hard drive options under first aid grayed out.

use hard drive move files , forth between macbook pro , windoze desktop. please help!!!!

have tried restarting mac? have tried accessing drive windows?
