No 'automatic brightness' option with mid-2010 iMac?

hey, tried enable automatic brightness on 2010 imac, use both when bright , in dark, option doesn't seem there.

i'm running osx mavericks.

option ever here? available on imac, or imagining it?
 

i don't believe model imac ever had ambient light sensor.
