Problems installing Mavericks on a MBA 2012.

hi, bought used macbook air off ebay , working wanted reinstall it. did , worked being incredibly laggy when transitioning between windows , scrolling. using 8gb ram times , around 70% cpu. tried formatted hard drive , tried reinstall using method downloads mavericks internet. went through installation has been stuck of apple logo screen loading wheels spinning on hour.

how can fix this?

can confirm did. reinstall internet recovery hold command-option-r boot internet recovery. after logging in wifi see spinning globe while recovery utility installs. once done see recovery screen below.

there start disk utility , select drive brand name @ top of left column go erase tab , format drive mac os extended (journaled) in drop down.

quit disk util , click reinstall os x. happens when this?
