How far back can a developer support an app?

howdy, i'm having 1 of classic ios vs. android debates on forum (i know, stupid, whatever) , brought point many apps idevices no longer supported ios5, or @ least don't updates anymore on ios5 , 6.

versions of ios app able run on decided developer? or apple behind this?

would't know because i'm not dev...
 

ios 5.1, depends on if developer implements new sdk stuff.

can keep apps work far ios 2.0 in store, can't update them.

lame argument, when bet has samsung galaxy s4 or something. go tell him try , rock htc chacha , you.

won't run of new stuff because it's armv6. runs gingerbread, still, majority of apps right armv7 , can't backport them without knowledge in doing so.
