iCloud backup taking 24hrs+ to restore

i received iphone 6 yesterday , began restoring icloud backup, , more 24hrs later still restoring. understand apple's servers being hammered @ moment backup wasn't large. it's chewing through *tonne* of broadband quota - i've gone through 50gb more data usual and, backup restoration aside, i'm not using more data usual.

else experiencing same thing? ideas why ~15gb backup taking 50gb+ of quota restore?
 

yep, iclould restore slow. started after dinner yesterday. finished loading still intermittently updating apps night. finished before woke up.

icloud restore takes couple of hours update on rather packed 32 gb device.
