iCloud Backups are not running automatically with iOS 8

hello all! did searching, find similar thread.

issue once upgraded ios 8, icloud backups no longer happen automatically. confirmed connected wifi , phone locked, no avail. saw issue running 8.0 8.0.2.

have confirmed issue occurs on retina ipad mini, , iphone 6.

else have same issue?
 

after reading post, checked icloud backup , sure enough, last backup several days ago. had set automatic backup. or @ least thought had. when checked phone under icloud > backup, turned off. turned on , backed should. recalled had last backed in itunes , had checked off backup computer. looks had changed backup on icloud computer until told otherwise. situation? after comptuer, have remember switch icloud in itunes. or @ least think happened. wifi sync in itunes not working, looks backup option is.
