iPad mini Extremely annoying screen rotation

anyone else have problem screen extremely annoying when comes rotation? pretty much, stuck 1 way, landscape or portrait. turn device , nothing happens @ all. flip switch on side toggle rotation, , turns right way, right immediately. also, example, let's stuck in landscape, doing weird thing on home screen. open app , briefly in landscape, switches portrait, portrait, regardless of how holding ipad. leave app, , on home screen, stuck in portrait. occurred in versions of ios 7, , versions of 7.1 on ipad mini retina display.

now, doesn't occur time. ranges happening once every 2-3 weeks, 3 or 4 times in 1 week. don't know if it's problem ipad or not, because gyroscope/accelerometer games work fine on ipad, when screen rotation barely working. changing whether switch toggles mute or lock rotation doesn't affect anything.

simple reboot fixes problem, comes back. else experience similar issues?
 

try hardware reset. while haven't encountered problem on occasion lock sound quits working or becomes intermittent. once hardware reset (power+home) problem goes away.
