iPad Safari & Bookmarks Menu

i not fond of how menu has been moved left side of screen. habits requires me reach across screen right hand.

i'm ambivalent on menu not automatically hiding after selection. however, if keep menu up, while viewing sites, can swipe right page forward, can't swipe left page back. must tap top of screen, tap < page back.

missing easier way page menu displayed?
 

nope, doesn't seem swipe left gesture work if bookmarks bar on left side. couldn't make work, anyways. hmmmm.....?
