Mac Pro increase the power.

hi joined yesterday, , wanted advice you.
have old mac pro 3,1 -8 core - 28.8 ghz- 8 gb ram- 2008 - bought friend 4 months , works fcpx 10.1.3. working in avchd color wheel turns !!!!

advise me give more power?
first things replace?
replace parts calm because not have lot of money available immediately, little @ time.
first expense be?

bumping after 2 hours seems poor form. give people chance see before bumping.

improve things increase memory. own 3,1 has 18gb of ram like. if me @ least double current ram 16gb.

consider getting ssd , making @ least os , application drive. depending on needs work drive figure fcx files tend big, working files.

usb3 card new usb3 external drives.

i've done on own system , happy it, 6 years out.
