Mac Pro problem with Soundflower file Playback

hi,
running old (late 2007) mac pro, dual core intel xeon (2 x 2.66), snow leopard / osx 10.6.8 (which, apparently can no longer upgrade).

recorded streaming audio in garageband after having downloaded soundflower, , having problems hearing playback of file.

had problems getting soundflower 'hear' audio source, when successful, see audio waveform change, , quick playback test confirmed working.

started recording again, , before, meters working, , waveform confirmed playback, did me using audio interface's mix knob confirm hearing audio recording.

when finished recording, not - , still cannot - hear playback, ,despite meters , waveforms showing there audio present.

can hear audio every other imaginable source: youtube videos, other garageband projects, mp3's, songs in itunes, in variety of players (garageband, itunes, vlc, quicktime), cannot hear either .band (garageband's native format) file, or exported mp3 of file.

have tried every combination of settings input , output, , - can seen said above - can set things correctly hear other sources, @ loss solution might be.

feels me driver unstable, , try uninstalling, , reinstalling it.

in meantime, gratefully appreciated.

sorry, can't help, know nothing audio software.

however, info you. 10.6.8 not limit of machine, can install 10.9.4 or 10.10 cmp.
