Trouble activating Sprint iPhone 4s on Sprint

i'm running problems activating iphone 4s on sprint, after had been on freedompop couple of months. first, background:

have iphone 4s, purchased sprint, on account little on 2 years before upgraded. once upgraded, sat in drawer couple on months until friend needed new phone. time freedompop (a sprint mvno) allowed sprint devices activated on network, no jailbreaking or unlocking required, give them esn , if supported device, they'd activate it. iphone 4s on list, gave try. lasted maybe 2 billing cycles on freedompop. last wednesday service on freedompop cancelled because actual usability of service was, well, crap.

sprint allows byod w/ no credit check accounts on added framily id, tried go route iphone. called wednesday morning deactivate freedompop account , couple of hours later tried activate on sprint. no dice. said esn coming "incompatible." assumed might mean freedompop has not let device go, , may need wait business day or 2. no problem. activated old lg phone had friend @ least had working phone make phone calls , send texts.

fast forward saturday, full reset on phone, "your phone not activated" message comes on lock screen, network shows "unavailable" in general/about assumed means free , clear. swapped out sim card (obtained apple weekend), in case. tried replace lg phone iphone on website. entered esn , said invalid. tried again, thinking i'd fat fingered it, , same result. tried entering imei, , same result. @ point said had tried many times , directed me chat agent. explained situation agent , s/he tried activate , unable. s/he directed me call telesales, spent 35+ minutes on line agent unable activate phone. made notes , supposed escalate group research, after he'd give me call findings. said should hear him yesterday, didn't.

so, ultimately, has ever seen this? need stress phone not unlocked, not jailbroken, not hacked in way. 100% stock, purchased sprint store.

have ideas on wrong, , how remedied?
