Upgrade advice: Mac Pro 1,1 and HD video

hi there,

have upgraded , hacked system run mavericks, have found system jittery when playing hd video via itunes. tends lag or drop frames picture remains static while sound continues unabated.

wondering people advice upgrade? config below:

2.66 ghz dual-core intel xeon
13gb 667 ddr2 fb dimm ecc-2x512
ati radeon 5870 hd
several 7200rpm hdd

need more ram or cpu upgrade best way go?

if cpu upgrade - need 'mac pulled part' or processor do? (was thinking http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/apple-mac...computing_cpus_processors&hash=item232b1c4da0 - open suggestion best thing use - preferably highest power cpu work little out of depth suitable.)

it strange video freeze. have tried see if video freezes in vlc or within browser.
