Resolved 2013 iMac Sleep Settings
i got 2013 imac (not brand brand new, couple months old bought off friend) loving far. i'm trying configure sleeps settings , running troubles.
have set sleep every night @ 11 pm local time, , wake manually. put sleep when leave house, otherwise idles , screen goes sleep. there times i'm not using imac right away , remains asleep. working good, it's when wakes when issues start.
imac wired 5th gen airport extreme connected usb drive tm backups. when wakes, more not, connection errors , either have a) launch finder, go ae in shared, , reconnect or b) when "a" doesn't work have restart ae airport utility ios app , reconnect. when these connection issues don't occur, backups don't run, though have powernap enabled.
also, when sleeping, apple tv cannot see itunes content downloaded on mac, nor can library seen ios remote app. when mac awake, content can seen without issue.
questions settings need enabled or disabled fix problems, , can ae disconnects?
you need connect tm drive directly imac , not ae. tm never intended work on network unless have time capsule. while have had luck connecting external hd ae , using tm, inevitably run trouble , answer same, connect drive directly mac.
