Finder Tags Laggy

hi all

i'm having bit of trouble organising our pictures here @ work. we've got on 20,000 products, thankfully lot of these can use same generic pictures - love able though search product code , bring same picture though it's named generic name.

had thought tag picture of corresponding product codes, problem creating of these tags making mac (especially finder) incredibly laggy! know backwards way of trying use tags thought i'd try make future workflow little quicker.

there different way i'm missing of amending search terms of file?
