Unable to connect my old Mac hard drive (as external HD) to new Mavericks mac

a while ago spilled water mac os x lion. apple support checked , told me mac died told me hardrive data saved. got new mac os x mavericks , i’m trying connect old mac hard drive through external hard drive (with external hard drive enclosue, using usb cable) , new mac not recognize external hardrive (even though green light on in external hardrive). suggestions on how solve problem?

it bad enclosure. got universal drive adapter novatech in uk £7.99 works every sata , ata drive i've used it. mounts 6gb ata g3 came in late 90s.

try , find similar. they're useful future because can use bare drives backup. there's similar newertech it's 3 times price , of reviews it's garbage.
