Will these hardware upgrades improve Logic X performance?

hello.. i'm looking make upgrades fairly-recent, late 2011, macbook pro.. i'm working full-time in logic x, spending @ least 12+ hours/day working w/tons of cpu-intensive plugins.. here current setup:

• macbook pro 2.4ghz intel core i7 (late 2011) .. 8gb 1333 mhz ddr3 .. 750gb 7200rpm hd

found out specific model of macbook pro can take 16gb of ram versus "maxed" 8gb of ram bought apple.. when bought machine, bought maximum amount of ram apple offered, top cpu , harddrive.. after doing research last night, found out though 2011 macbook pro's "rated" 8gb ram (4gb x 2), can take 16gb ram (8gb x 2)!..

here's ram modules looking upgrade to:

$151 pair (8gb x 2)

figure since i'm *very* unhappy logic x's performance on somewhat, brand-new macbook pro, , since i'm not in current financial situation able go out , buy new mac pro garbage-can, best bet improving workflow , logic x's performance to upgrade , make beast out of current machine..

since i've hit point i've "maxed out" ram w/16gb, , since cpu isn't upgradeable mac's, figure next best addition deck out machine ssd's.. i'm big advocate of buying badass components possible when comes computers, price isn't factor when moving onto next upgrade:

here's ssd (was thinking getting 2 of these @ 512gb/each) looking upgrade with:

$359/each

know samsung 850 pro ssd's big on pricey side, research, i've found they're ranked "best" available on market.. planning on replacing main hard drive in macbook pro w/one of these use osx/startup/logic x/apps drive, , catering idea of whether or not it'd worth throw in 2nd one? (same specs) in superdrive optical bay.. , use music/samples/etc..

i'm not sure if 2nd ssd considered "overkill", @ same time, hate having rely on external devices typically slow , bottleneck (plus have 1 thunderbolt *used display* , 2x usb 2.0 ports).. figure way, can have 1 disk reading while other writing, both @ same time.. , able have important, frequently-accessed music/sample folders available lightning-fast..

total shopping list:

• 1x patriot mac series 16gb apple sodimm kit (2x8gb) ddr3 1333 pc3 10600 204-pin so-dimm psa316g1333sk patriot = $151.06
• 2x samsung electronics 850 pro-series 2.5" 512gb sata iii internal solid state drive single unit version mz-7ke512bw samsung = $359 each * 2 = $708.00

+ owc data doubler able put ssd in superdrive/optical bay ($35)
+ owc superdrive enclosure able reconnect superdrive ($33)

grand total: $937.06 + tax = $1,027.49 (after tax + overnight shipping)

guys think these upgrades provide me noticeable improvement in logic x's performance? also, think 2nd ssd drive worth "less important" stuff access? looking forward hearing thoughts! thanks!

you notice difference. write speed of ssd make huge difference. ssd reads , writes faster, , machine spend lest time waiting on hdd.

version of os x on? use activity monitor check memory pressure on mavericks or yosemite. otherwise, use activity monitor , check ratio of page ins page outs. if using lot of swap space or have high ratio of page outs, ram help. based on usage, expect ram help.

whether second ssd overkill, tougher answer. if using store completed projects , personal media , documents, may overkill. if using both drives in workflow, second ssd may beneficial. ultimate speed, can configure pair in raid 0 array giving incredibly fast read/write speeds. in configuration, machine alternate writing between drives , failure of 1 drive kills data on both. make sure have reliable backup in place.

these older machines still serviceable, , think enjoy upgrades.
