Charger not supported? (6+ or iOS8?)

have car charger (belkin believe) old ios type port.
worked great :
iphone 4 on ios5
iphone 5 on ios6 (with apple adapter)
iphone 5s on ios7 (with apple adapter)

6+ on ios 8 charges 30 seconds minute, before saying accessory not supported. though "lightning authentication" came ios7, if worked on ios7, should work on ios8 right?
 

my wife gets time on iphone 5 - frustrating. don't think iphone 6 issue, iphone/ios "feature"
