Is my AT&T iPhone 5 unlocked?

i requested at&t unlock iphone 5 @ http://att.com/deviceunlock . got email saying device may unlocked few days ago.

according instructions in at&t's email, need itunes backup , restore complete unlock process. have not done yet. restoring phone makes me little nervous , prefer not unless absolutely necessary.

bought pre-paid t-mobile sim , inserted in iphone. t-mobile showed in phone's status bar. cannot make phone calls because have not signed t-mobile service , have no intentions to.

so, phone unlocked @ point? there else can @ confirm this?

yes unlocked. no longer need itunes thing.
