hey guys first post here , use expert advice. here's story:
elderly relative of mine tried updating iphone 4 ios 7.1 via option in general settings, went wrong during update process , phone flashes apple logo every few seconds when turned on. can still recovery , dfu mode, problem never turned on icloud or used itunes create backup, otherwise have recovered data. things of value on phone photos , contacts , i'd try save them if possible, last resort being trying forensic service though don't have money that.
have 2 options see it:
1. go recovery mode , restore phone through itunes , try 1 of online iphone recovery programs , pray can photos @ least.
2. go dfu mode , try flash different firmware , either go ios 4 or try fix corrupted ios 7. pray can save photos , contacts, turn on icloud , back up.
if has experience solution i'd appreciate it. whatever it's worth, when put phone recovery mode shows new charging cable logo, update ios 7 must have been partially successful.
far phone's history, hand me down jailbroken @ 1 point, don't know if still jailbroken when transferred over.

next time backup before update firmware cause stuff happen time ota updates not installing , cause phone need itunes restore.
cannot flash or install firmware other latest 7.1.2 , if proper shsh blobs , apt tickets saved previous ios version pics , on gone install firmware on it. had on pretty gone.
