worth upgrading 2009 MBP?

is running yosemite beta on 2009 mbp? if works great i'll hang onto it.

i'm out of space on mine , wondering if should upgrade ssd $200 or put money toward new mac. wife uses machine iphoto , web -- that's it. serves home base of our photos , video. guess i'm talking myself out of new mac, i'd hate upgrade , have trouble new photos app next year. guys do?
 

i moved 2009 13", 8gb , ssd "old" 15" 8/256.

loving it. fast. fast in comparison. moved on little , track hdd space after each install and/or move find things going , have lots of room.

old - talking version new week ago.

how fast? dvd rip handbrake. used take on hour per dvd. did 3 dvds last night in under 1 hour.
