I don't get whether Verizon or Apple is responsible for warranty issues

i having odd issues iphone 6. have been able fix (not all) of bluetooth issues. have not been able fix usb issues in car. did not install 8.0.1 had problems installing 8.0.2 , had factory restore when download failed install. first time have had updating problem in years of updates. today tried reply post made on apple support forum using iphone. reply buttons won't work (yes, logged in). when tried start new thread typing in new post field invisible. thought perhaps swiftkey corrupt deleted no change.
starting think there funky iphone 6 hardware. preordered verizon online , added applecare on phone on same day phone delivered. have appointment @ genius bar tomorrow after work if hardware issue suspected, need go verizon replacement? order apple switching edge , adding couple of lines , couldn't figure out how online. , replacement phone new phone or return/refurb?
help. guess spoiled because used apple products working. though size of iphone 6 perfect me, beginning miss reliability of old iphone 5.
 

apple can replace if needs be. i'd imagine on, new device, it'd refurbished 1 (but again since they're still new don't have refurb's yet)
