MacBook trackpad is going haywire

my macbook has done 5 minutes @ time , not once week, since 3 days ago, track pad has been going insane. try move it, , glitches, stops, goes, moves on it's own, has delay, , can barely go direction want. anyway when load in safe mode appears work, downloaded avast in safe mode , think took safe mode off , it's doing on again. worse when running scan, walked away second come see scan stopped user!!! closed window out , everything! flipping out, don't know how happened causing trackpad go crazy this. cant simple task on macbook anymore

i noticed second ago, if center mouse on screen , let go, move left way other side of screen. i'm not sure if trackpad glitching out or if have virus
 

can remove battery?
check see if battery swelling (it visible), , pushing against trackpad underneath.
can cause odd symptoms of un-called trackpad movement.
