Tmobile "Unlocked" iPhone 6 is Actually Locked to Tmobile?

i heard apple rep tmobile phone listed "unlocked" on apple.com, (and ones selling in store) locked tmobile. has else had experience? if so, do unlock it? have gone through process?
 

if it's unlocked, have pop t-mobile sim card out , put at&t, straight talk, etc. sim in , phone work.

i'm waiting see if can confirm if t-mobile model is, in fact, unlocked. that's sole reason why did not pre-order since want unlocked model.
