Bootcamp on fusion drive
hi everyone,
i've removed optical drive install ssd original drive slot , hdd optical drive spot , used terminal make fusion drive of few guides on internet.
done, flawless, though wish install windows in boot camp, , when run bootcamp, requires me have optical drive. won't show option create usb drive install windows from.
want know if there anyway it, buying external enclosure old superdrive should last resort (i know it's not expensive or anything)
putting old superdrive in external not it.
may find ways based on refit hard road never succeeded with.
have 2 obstacles, (1) no internal superdrive need boot windows on macs originally, , (2) fusion drive.
sequence might work is:
1. revert fusion drive 2 separate disks, ssd , hdd.
2. temporarily refit internal superdrive in optical bay
3. partition hdd or ssd, depending on sizes , whether want bootcamp on partition of ssd or hdd
4. install bootcamp on partition.
5. remove superdrive , refit hdd or ssd took out
6. recreate fusion drive the drive , partition not using windows.
outline stuff, , high risk, recreating fd make windows partition unbootable. may refit comes in.
had home-brew fusion drive in mbp , used parallels, faster bootcamp people think, , has no need of superdrives, , quite happy on fusion drives.
