Is it safe to disable Time Machine "Local Snapshots"?

-

working new harddrives, have been filled 50% capacity "other" , "backups".. know these files related time machine (i using apple time capsule 2tb).. pretty never away home (lol), macbook pro stays connected time capsule via ethernet throughout day, , pretty disconnected, maybe once or twice month..

since i'm plugged time capsule via ethernet.. safe disable time machine "local snapshots" free harddrive space?
 

that local backups space should never show in other, purple backups section.

won't harm turning off if don't need feature.
