Help with weird gesture

hi all,

friend got new mac retina 13" , helping learn mac ways.

periodically, make gesture (not sure which) causes current screen minimize open window top of screen. looked in trackpad setting may times , cannot seem find setting causing annoying minimization.

appreciated! want turn off whatever causing happen.

see attached screenshot. open file weird grey bar on top , left side.

you used show desktop gesture, under system preferences > trackpad > more gestures > show desktop trigger , maybe deactivate it.
