New Strange G5 Issue

ok, g5 not boot of sudden. start it, startup tone, white apple screen, starts spinner , shuts down. yet, can start single user mode (says good, has weird message error mapping module file com.apple.driver.appleintelcpupowermanagement), can run service diagnostic disk (again good, strangely needed re-calibrate thermal though ive not touched processors or anything. both calibrated no problem) , can boot open firmware. yet not boot hard drive, drive, leopard install disc, nothing. online researching seems power supply. have another, rather not take apart if not neccesary. why, power supply cause problem during boot process? thought if went bad have nothing? if bad why can things can do? apologize if it's dumb question. also, if problem lies appleintelcpu thing, why? powerpc. not intel! little confused , use clarity before tear main machine. way, 2004 g5 dual 2.0g 8g ram. no problems @ until yesterday. thanks.

have tried pmu reset?
