hi.
i'm upgrading refurb rmbp 256gb hd. looking @ getting tough external hd provide additional storage films , music (i use laptop dj) 256 isn't big enough collection. i've had bad experiences external hds failing in past , loosing lots of precious music wanted know if there's sleek solution backing external hd on exhd device.
example following possible: use rmbp storage small, temporary , essential files , keep music library on portable external hd managed itunes. use stationary external hd (or time capsule @ home) set automatically make clone of rmbp data , portable external hd when i'm home. when download/import new music or files , save/organise external hd using itunes, second stationary external hd makes copy of this.
overly complicated? recommendations external hd's, software or more simple solution?
know buying larger ssd on rmbp make sense, there's big jump in price next hd size same spec in refurb section, , having of music/files appeals greatly!
help.
just buy whatever usb3 hard drive backup using os x included time machine backup software. default, time machine exclude external disks backup, go options pane , remove externals exclude list , backed other external choose backup destination.
