Just got iPhone 6 - any solution for gmail push?

hi all
got 6's (coming 4s's). noticed gmail doesn't work exchange anymore. read due google not supporting exchange. never noticed before bc being grandfathered in old devices.

curious if fixed ios8 or if there workaround gmail pushed without using gmail app? i'd keep yahoo , gmail emails using native app before.
