Is it time to upgrade my 7 year old iMac?

i using 24 inch mid 2007 imac, have been thinking upgrading it. i've pretty wanted new imac around 5 years, somehow talked myself out of because didn't need new one. thinking again, still don't know if need new 1 yet. it's not intensive, web-browse, may because have little room so. can barely run civ 5 on lowest settings. i'm not going playing bf4 or cod on imac because have ps4, wouldn't mind being able run bigger programs.

reason why have been thinking getting new imac because feel technology way ahead of imac 2.4ghz intel core 2 duo , 256mb graphics card. imac made cut yosemite, highly doubt able upgrade after that.

that's perspective, wondering guys think should do. don't want upgrade sake of upgrading, if necessary it. happy after 7 years, mac still running strong. next imac, inevitably sooner or later, last long. if buy new imac, think should wait new ones released? talked guy @ apple store said they'll have chip able watch 4k in, intrigues me because have 4k make imac last longer without becoming obsolete. when guys think new imacs released? thanks!

could while before next imac (at least broadwell in it) released:

honestly, if in shoes, i'd used imac (either 2011 or late 2012 model depending on body style like), save significant amount of money still give performance need stuff need (looks aren't power user; neither i). figure on either of these machines lasting between 3 5 years, time apple have come out @ least second-gen retina imac.

i'm running 2010 imac ssd in it: it's plenty fast need, , plan use until 4k/retina screens standard across apple lineup; i'm guessing 2016 @ latest.
