Headache in deciding non-Retina or Retina or used 15 macbook pro

having hard time deciding macbook pro upgrade heavy music production use.

there're 2 refurb models has same price! both around $2140usd @ hk store.

15 2.7 i7, 16g ram,512gb flash drive, retina
v.s
15 2.7 17, 8g ram, 1tb, non retina

or shall go used late 2011 15macbook pro, 1tb, 256ssd, 8g ram instead.
used model half price of getting refurb, i'm not sure how long last? user has been using lot photo , video production.

such tough decision, wish give me advice.
 

since they're same price, i'd inclined retina, has 16 gb of ram - cannot upgraded later.

i'd stay away 2011 models, graphics cards failing @ alarming rate.
