13" mid 2010 no backlight

hey there, would love on 1 guys.

have macbook had magnet missing inside screen assembly, wasn't going sleep. however, else worked fine - until, of course, put new magnet in , put together. no backlight.

first things first: checked external monitor. good.
next: happened have body of 13" macbook lying around sans screen assembly, hooked one's assembly it... , whaddya know, working fine, backlight , all!

so, know this: a) video card/circuit works. b) display assembly, including lvds cable, works.

display cable connector on motherboard looks fine , don't see glaringly obvious blown components anywhere near it. did go os , try increase brightness through system preferences, slider accomplished nothing. also, brightness keys on keyboard nothing well.

feel can't know if software or hardware issue unless have specialty tools apple themselves, although did happen after messed hardware bit, might clue. if can me figure 1 out, has had similar issue of sorts, or happens know components involved between suspect areas, appreciated. thanks.
