Duplicating Storyboard for Universal App

i have app works on iphone. want work on ipad, too. copied storyboard , renamed ipad-storyboard.storyboard. changed plist refer file ipad , does. have updated storyboard file height , width match ipad dimensions not take. can edit within xcode or can use external editor. can change name of storyboard , import it, can clean before , after. still remembering old one.

have ideas how can copy existing storyboard use ipad storyboard?
 

iphone? or ipad?

i'm not sure problem having. built whole app iphone, , realized wanted ipad. after trying roll on ipad version in xcode, figured out had start 0 , recode in xcode ipad file. copying , pasting stuff didn't work me.
