Foxconn Facing Display Shortages as it Struggles to Meet iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Demand

apple's iphone 6 , 6 plus supplies may continue constrained foxconn reportedly struggling keep demand handsets, reports wall street journal. unlike previous years saw foxconn handling launch of 1 flagship handset, manufacturer tasked producing 2 iphone models in high demand.
foxconn reportedly has hired more 200,000 workers @ zhengzhou site work on apple's new iphone. large labor force , daily output volumes of 140,000 iphone 6 plus units , 400,000 iphone 6 units, company still not able meet pre-order demand.

one issue reportedly facing manufacturer shortage of 5.5-inch displays, still @ being produced @ 50-60 percent output rate, leading suppliers reject half of display units come off production line.

apple has faced similar shortages previous iphone models , has been able gradually ramp supply meet demand. apple begin selling new iphone 6 , iphone 6 plus starting friday, september 19th in handful of launch countries. larger global rollout planned following week sales beginning on september 26th.
