Nikon 16-35 f/4 Questions.

hi,

have d700, d800 , 50 1.4 & 24-70 2.8. use 24-70 everything. don't have many lenses , because time 1 unhappy it. bought 14-24 when shooting d90 , returned because didn't combo. shoot lot of different subject matter , use 24-70 however, going on trip across america , wide angle zoom again (i used sigma 10=20 on d90). did similar trip few years ago , managed ok 24-70 feel benefit wide angle.

after lot of research ordered 16-35 , got yesterday. came late in day didn't chance test unimpressed initial results (not sharp). today took more of test , sharpness seem ok fresh eyes can't feel there excessive chromatic aberration @ f/8 , on images, right hand side of frame seems soft. have noticed shooting vita vr in day produces soft images ( think supposed happen? i've never had vr lens before.).


wondering opinions on these samples: ( take no notice of subject matter).

they looks okay me... mind you, eyes rather old.

these raw? use in-camera sharpening?
