Dock alternative application launcher

thought i'd seek advice mac users spend lot of time graphics programs.

have lot of graphics programs , utilites. know should maybe pare down, after years of accumulation there programs still love use if find same function in newer application.

i'm looking utility use grouping bunch of photo applications together, , available list choose mouse (or trackpad) launch 1 or more. i've accomplished in launchbar folder full of aliases, or custom list (and can of same stuff in alfred). i'd use mouse, floating palette or popup. did same folders , aliases dropping on dock, i'm wondering if there's better way, particular if wanted launch set of programs or files.

, there utility can batch quit applications? lots of ways launch maybe 3 @ once, haven't seen makes easy quit bunch of them. or @ least close bunch of windows in group of applications.

applescript?? there's checkbox place on task bar. after function of instruct do.
